INCUBUS Live in Manila 07.28.11

It was April when I found out that Incubus will come again in the Philippines for their "If Not Now, When? World Tour". This will be their third time visiting the country and it made me happy 'coz this will be my chance to see them live for the first time. I've been thinking twice to attend this concert 'coz of some matters, I only bought General Admission ticket. It was already July when I bought my tix and this would sacrifice again my sleep, I'll be sleepy again on work, just like when I watched Mayday Parade concert. Okay for Brandon Boyd, I must do it :P

Since none of my friends is available to go with me on the concert (even my sister), I decided to go with some forums friends (FN/GTers Friends). I have sister pumpkin (sis jem) and sis tinapay (sis tina) to be with me on that day, and one of my friend colleagues "tolits". Finally it was July 28! So we were already sending messages around 5pm that we were on our way to Smart Araneta Coliseum, sis tina just get there outside the big dome when I got a text from tolits that he left his ticket, OMG! It was just then that I realized that I also forgotten my ticket! It's already 6:15pm and I was already there too at Araneta, and I left my ticket at home in BULACAN! So I rush to the nearest bus station, I almost run! Good thing there is already a bus ready to go, and I just sent sms to sis tina and sis jem that I left my ticket, and I can't go with them! This is really bad! On my travel I was so anxious that I wouldn't able to see the entire performance of Incubus.

Just in the nick of time, I reach the big dome again around 8pm and I have to thanks Tolits for waiting for me at the entrance of general admission. As we enter the coliseum they dim the lights, it was a relief for me and I can see "FRANCO" on the stage. Hurray for my Ninja moves ^_^

FRANCO

A good way to start the night with Franco, though a lot of people want them to go and finish their performance already because of INCUBUS! I enjoyed listening to their songs and they were great too, one of the best local band!

Now it's INCUBUS time! Starting their performance with the hit song MEGALOMANIAC! My eyes was so stuck to Brandon Boyd, I don't even recognize that Mike was having a problem with his guitar, as seen in this video he throws his guitar and gets another guitar and throw it again, so the third guitar went well, and so the real rock-star of the night goes to MIKE! LOL

I love BRANDON BOY! Amazing vocals and damn HOTTIE! Though he only teases us by trying to take off his shirt during the encore (pervert me ^^). I just wish he really takes it off hahaha! Again INCUBUS rocks Manila, performing a total of 20 songs, that was absolutely spectacular concert! Awesome performance!!!

Here are some of the pics:

I enjoyed Incubus Concert so much! Still wanting Incubus to be back in Manila for the fourth time! If that happens, I'll make sure to get vip tix, so that I can see Brandon Boyd up close!

Lesson learned: Always check if you bring your ticket! hahaha of all the things, why did I forgot that ticket! , good thing that I was able to watch the entire concert from start.

Incubus ROCKS!!! I love Brandon Boyd!!!!

MAYDAY PARADE Live in Manila!!!

It's so cool that Mayday Parade will go here in the Philippines for a concert, but I'm not really sure if I'm gonna watch these guys. My sister who loves Mayday so much insist me to watch so that she'll not be alone on the concert (watta tricky plan). So she already made reservation for the tickets, too bad that only gold tickets were left (she wanted VIP tix). No more excuses for me, even it will sacrifice my time of sleep and going to work. Only for Mayday Parade, only for Derek ^^, I love Mayday Parade too! I'm sure it's worth watching them.

Thanks to Sonic Boom from bringing these guys, at first I was confuse about the venue because it was "Meralco Theater", I mean .. it's a pop punk/rock band how can we jammed at the theater?! Though the venue was not that suitable, I still enjoy the night with their performance.

Starting the night with their front act "December Avenue"

Mayday's opening song "JAMIE ALL OVER!" See Derek's barefoot performance! Love him!

Setlist:

  • Jamie All Over
  • Kids in Love
  • When I Get Home You're so Dead
  • I'd Hate to be You When People Find Out What this Song is About
  • Three Cheers for Five Years
  • Terrible Things
  • If You Wanted a Song Written About You, All You had to Do was Ask
  • Anywhere but Here

Here are some pics of their performance!

That was really awesome performance by MAYDAY PARADE! Derek and Jake's voice sync so well. I love these guys, I hope they'll come back soon.

Mayday Parade rocks Manila! An hour of great performance, I enjoyed watching them live and I'll surely miss them.

Singapore - Day 9 (Mustafa/Chinatown/Hostel Amigos/Changi Airport)

This is my last day in Singapore! Time to buy pasalubongs! I've been to Bugis and Chinatown, I almost compared prices, but then I paid visit to Mustafa Centre a 24 hours mall/shopping center in Singapore. I woke up early to go there, and yes it's a mall that never sleeps ^^

I bought most of my pasalubongs at Mustafa like chocolates and souvenir t-shirts. Then I head to Chinatown to buy some my other souvenirs and I had breakfast at McDonald's in Chinatown. (I love McDonald's)

CHINATOWN

Went back to hostel to take some rest and pack my things, it was so sad that I'm leaving Singapore. Now I'll have a review for Hostel Amigos, I love my stay here for these following reasons:
  • Location: It was near to MRT Lavender station
  • Food: There is a hawkers nearby, fruit stands, bakery, 7-11
  • Free Breakfast: Milk and bread
  • Restroom: Though this is a shared bathroom, it is always clean.
  • There is free wifi and free use of PC
  • Free use of washing machine and iron
  • The place is clean
  • The staff were so nice

HOSTEL AMIGOS

I would recommend this hostel for solo traveler like me, or for any travelers out there. If you're looking for a cheap yet decent place to stay then put Hostel Amigos on your list.

Now I'm ready to leave Singapore and head off to the very beautiful Changi Airport!

For your last minute shopping Changi Airport is there to serve you, and there are lots of restaurant too. I'm happy that my flight is at Terminal 2 of Changi Airport.

Well that's it, surviving my first solo travel in Singapore and Malaysia! I'm so happy and proud for what I accomplished! I love Singapore! I will surely be back here and visit again USS (my favorite).

It so nice that most of the people here understand English, so it is easy to communicate. There are lots of Filipinos, so don't be shy to ask them if you're lost or looking for some place. Actually the MRT is very efficient, you won't get lost in Singapore it is a very tourist friendly place. Don't be afraid to stay late at night, Singapore is also a safe place. Try their authentic foods, there are lots of hawkers stall here which are way cheaper. Our friendly KFC and McDonald's is also around the country just in case you don't want to try Singaporean foods.

I really really really enjoyed my stayed in Singapore! ^^
