ILOCOS - Day 2 (Laoag & Vigan)

We had our breakfast in Jun and Carol Beach Resort near Ate Cathy's Homestay, we are ready to leave Pagudpud, so sad that we can't stay any longer to enjoy Saud Beach.

SAUD BEACH

Early morning at Saud Beach

We texted Kuya Marlou to fetch us at Ate Cathy's Homestay, he offered it after the tour. Now we are heading to Laoag. We took a bus going there, it's non AC bus (ordinary bus), the fare is 60php and travel time is more than 1 hour.

Kuya Allen is already waiting at the Laoag bus terminal, he will be our tour guide.

Our first stop is Marcos Wax Museum

Photography/Camera is not allowed inside

After the wax museum, we headed to the photo gallery.

MARCOS PHOTO GALLERY

PAOAY CHURCH

The church is also featured in the movie "Suddenly It's Magic", the place of this church is huge, located in front of this church is "Herencia de Paoay", in the movie it serves as Erich's Bakery, but in reality it's a restaurant.

HERENCIA DE PAOAY

PAOAY LAKE

PAOAY SAND DUNES

I'm not a fan of this activity, if you want to try this Sand Dunes adventure it cost 1,200php for 4pax.

MALACAÑANG TI AMIANAN (MALACAÑANG OF THE NORTH)

One of the rest houses of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. As you can see it is close on MONDAYS,
too bad we are unable to visit this place because it's Monday! So guys remember of the schedule ^^
Entrance fee: 20php

FORT ILOCANDIA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Since we failed to visit Malacanang of the North, Kuya Allen took us here at Fort Ilocandia Gold and Country Club. A place where you can see the late President Marcos private room and some memorabilia.

Loser Toyo for President! ^_^

Seriously, this place is creepy ^^

FORT ILOCANDIA RESORT

A very well known resort in Ilocos (no doubt about it), I've seen this a lot in the net ^^

Inside Fort Ilocandia Resort

After visiting Fort Ilocandia Resort, we go back to the city proper and had our late lunch. Just nearby is The Sinking Bell Tower and St. William Cathedral.

THE SINKING BELL TOWER

Located at Laoag's city proper, it is said that this "Sinking" Bell Tower was built in sandy foundations that causes it to sink and the fact that it is heavy. This Bell Tower is part of St. William Cathedral's , which is also located few meters away.

ST. WILLIAM CATHEDRAL

St. William Cathedral, also known as Laoag Cathedral.

After we finished touring this beautiful LAOAG, Kuya Allen drove us at Partas Bus Station. We ride the one going to Baguio, it will pass by at Vigan, the fare is 137php. It took us more than 2 hours to reach Vigan.

At Partas Vigan terminal, we ride a tricycle to Calle Crisologo, the fare is 50php.

CALLE CRISOLOGO

One of the famous tourist attractions in Vigan is Calle Crisologo, filled with Spanish-style houses.

What to do here?

Well aside from sightseeing and buying pasalubongs, you can ride the kalesa for 150 (per hour).

Souvenirs!

Calle Crisologo at night

This is the only place we can afford to visit in Vigan due to not enough time. We only spend an hour or less (I guess) and just enjoyed taking pictures and buying pasalubongs.

Leaving Vigan, we took a tryke to Bantay highway, fare is 30php. Luckily after a few minutes Florida Bus came, a deluxe bus to Cubao, the fare is 620php.

Goodbye Vigan!
