Hong Kong Day 2 - Ngong Ping! (Part 1)

It was our second day in Hong Kong, the weather is great! Following the itinerary, the first destination is Ngong Ping.

Ngong Ping is known for the Giant Buddha, cable cars and the village itself.

From Golden Crown we take the MTR (TST) to Lai King Station and change to Tung Chung line to head off to Tung Chung MTR Station, exit B to go to Cable Car Station that will take to to Ngong Ping cable car. We reach at 9:30am and queued until the Ngong Ping cable car opens. (opening hours 10am - 6pm)

We bought the crystal cable car tickets for 169hkd (round trip), this cable car was pretty much bigger than the cable car in Ocean Park.

I was blown away when I saw the great scenery! Riding for the first time at crystal cabin wasn't scary at all, maybe we were just busy taking pictures.

The crystal cable car was really awesome, I didn't even notice that we already reach the village.

Ngong Ping Village was beautiful and quite peaceful too, I'm not sure if this place got crowded too, maybe were too early to visit this place and only few people were there.

We hurriedly go to the Giant Buddha but we decided not to climb the top of it, in order to reach the Buddha you need to climb the long stairs which I'm sure we will be exhausted if we tried it.

Some people also pray here.

After having lunch we go straight to the cable car to leave Ngong Ping Village. Riding the cable car on our way back to Tung Chung (cable car terminal) was really scarier!  We were supposed to have some photo ops inside the cable car, but we were both nervous and almost shaking too ^^

But I still love riding the cable car!

  1. I love Ngong Ping! :) Wow, it's great that you had the guts to sit down on the floor of the cable car. My mom and I were really scared inside the crystal cabin cable car because it was raining the time we went to Ngong Ping and we were imagining the long way down, hehe.
