South Korea 2014: Day 5 - Jeju Island (Jusangjeolli Cliff, Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls)

June 10, 2014
Jeju Island - A Great Escape!

I've read that the easy way to tour Jeju Island is hiring a taxi (private tour) or joining a tour bus, but we are on a tight budget so we had to do our on way "The Do-It-Yourself way". Reading blogs helped me a lot to this Jeju Trip and with the help of our receptionist at "You and I Guesthouse". I asked her how can we go to some tourist spots and how to go back to the guesthouse, and then she write the bus # that we have to ride and she even write in hangul(korean) so we can show it to the driver.

Our first destination Jusangjeolli Cliff, from YOU & I Guesthouse we walked to the nearest bus stop and waited for Bus. No. 780.

We had an hour and half traveling from Jeju-si to Seogwipo, the driver drop us 10 minutes walk to ICC Jeju wherein Jusangjeolli Cliff is located.

Jusangjeolli Cliff is located at the back of ICC Jeju, we took a lot of pictures on our way to the cliff. ^_^

Unique rock formation of Jusangjeolli Cliff

The Jusangjeolli are stone pillars piled up along the coast and is a designated cultural monument of Jejudo Island. The Jusangjeolli was formed when the lava from Mt.Hallasan erupted into the sea of Jungmun. They are rock pillars shaped like cubes or hexagons of various sizes and almost seem as if stonemasons had carved them out.

This place is somehow too crowded, we had difficulties getting photo of us with the rock formation because there were many people.

Next stop is The Seaes Hotel & Resort, 10 minutes walk from Jusangjeolli Cliff, again... more pictures on our way ^_^
