South Korea 2014: Day 5 - Jeju Island (Teddy Bear Museum and Chocolate Land)

This is located in Jungmun Resort area, it has two floors:  The top floor which is the entry floor has several displays of chocolate including chocolate hallabongs and a chocolate chessboard.

There is a small observation area outside where a statue of Willy Wonka from Charlie and the chocolate factory. The view looks down to the ocean.

After chocolate overload we head to Jeju Teddy Bear Museum, it is 5 minutes walk from Chocolate Land and just opposite of Ripley's "Believe it or not" Museum.

How to get here:
Take an airport limousine No.600
Get off at Yeomiji Botanical Garden in Jungmun sightseeing complex. (15 minute interval, 50 minute ride), then walk for 5 min.

8,500 won


Another famous place for Korean Drama filming location "Princess Hours", wherein every end of episode featured cute Teddy Bears! I have visited Teddy Bear Museum in N Seoul Tower in 2012, unfortunately it was already closed last November 2013 and replaced by Alive Museum.

The museum consist of three parts: The History Hall, The Art Hall and The Project Exhibition Hall

The History Hall, you can withness here the100-year history of teddy bears including famous scenes, popular teddy bears of different eras, and antique teddy bears.

The Art Hall, you can see here the latest artworks of world’s famous designers, and you will also find animation characters beloved by children.

Can't get enough of these teddies?  Outside of this museum there is a garden of teddies!



Teddy Bear Museum Garden, you can meet the marvelous teddy bear sculptures and models. The garden decorated with various themes such as the Korean Black bear family and there is also magical pond.




Next stop is Ripley's "Believe it or not" Museum, just opposite of Teddy Bear Museum and beside Starbucks Coffee.

How to get here:
Take Bus #600 (Airport Limousine) and get off at Jungmun Resort (departs every 15 min / travel time: about 50 min)





Back to Jeju-si we ride bus #780 going to Jeju Bus Terminal and transfer to Bus 502 going to City Hall.
