Singapore 2012 - Day 2 (City Tour + F1 + Chinatown + Orchard)

Time to explore Singapore! We plan to visit the famous Merlion along Fullerton, MBS (Marina Bay Sand), Helix Bridge, Esplanade, Suntec City for the Fountain of Wealth, Chinatown and Orchard!

From Bugis Station to Bayfront Station

We had our free breakfast courtesy of Sleepy Sams, a yummy and healthy breakfast!

MBS

Our first stop is MBS or Marina Bay Sand, we were supposed to see Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Art Science Museum, but it was closed.

Our second stop is Helix Bridge, this bridge is connected to MBS Mall.

As we reach the end of this bridge, we've seen some roads were closed, why???? Well... it's because of 2012 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix!

FORMULA 1

I'm not a big fan of this racing event, but I'm amazed to see the actual cars for racing and how they prepared for it. COOL!

WOW for those cars! Like I said I'm not a big fan of this F1 thingy, but seeing these cars and the roads getting ready, makes me wanna watch the race! We won't be able to watch the race 'coz our flight back to Manila is on 21st of September which is the start of F1 race! Too bad :(

I'm looking forward to watch F1 next year, so that gives me another reason to come back in Singapore!

ESPLANADE

One of the famous theater in the bay, it is a venue for performing arts, exhibition, etc.

After some photo-ops outside Esplanade, we are ready to the next stop "Merlion/Fullerton". From Esplanade you need to cross the bridge wherein you can see the beauty of MBS!

MERLION

The well-known icon of Singapore - MERLION, lion head in a fish body. 

At last we are done touring the city walking from MBS to Fullerton that makes us exhausted and fighting to the hot weather. Now the problem is we need to go back to the nearest MRT station which means a long walk again!

As noon is fast approaching, we head back to Bayfront station. Our next destination is Suntec City Mall, for the Fountain of Wealth.

The world's largest fountain, be sure to make a wish! Last year I watched the show event (light/water show) here in the FOW (Fountain of Wealth), the shows start at night (I'm not sure for the exact time).

After roaming around Suntec City Mall, we moved to our next destination - CHINATOWN.

If you are looking for the cheapest and complete souvenir shops, well Chinatown is the place!

We buy some souvenirs, looks like we still have time to go the next destination - ORCHARD.

Directions:

From Chinatown Station to Dhoby Ghaut Station then to Orchard Station.

Arriving Orchard Station which is connected to ION Mall, we had our dinner here in Burger King - ION Branch. Orchard road is full of high end malls, for shopaholics out there enjoy and explore orchard road!

Watta day! We've been walking the whole day, I really need a foot massage :( but even we were dead tired I enjoyed this day, everyday is a new experience for me, discovering places and cherishing every moments!
